Cubbies
Ages: Birth to preschool
Cubbies is an interactive story hour that has a different theme every week and includes a story, craft and snack. Two sessions are offered – 9:30 am. and 10:30 am. – every Monday from January through April, 2009.

Story & Stuff
Ages: Grades K-2nd

Children will get the chance to see people from our community use their storytelling skills through books, puppets, crafts and much more. Thursdays at 6:30 pm (Jan. 15, Feb. 19, Mar. 19, April 16)

Laptime

Ages: 9 months – 2-1/2 years

Laptime is a weekly parent-child interactive program that meets every Wednesday at 10:00 am. for 30 minutes. Parents are required to stay with the children during the ½ hour of songs, finger plays, movement games, bounce songs, and books to share time. This program is to help parents feel comfortable singing and playing with their child, giving new ideas and support. Pre-registration is requested; call the library for more information or to register your child.

StoryHour
Ages: 3 – 5 years of age

There are several Storyhour classes to pick from: Tuesday nights at 6:30 pm., Wednesday afternoons at 1:30 pm., or Thursday mornings at 10:00 am. This program consists of storytelling at the beginning and a parent-assisted craft to follow. Parents/guardians are required to stay for this program and are asked to help assist the child with his/her craft. This program encourages the love of reading, learning to sit still, following directions, and practicing social skills. Pre-registration is requested; call the library for more information or to register your child.

Early Readers Club
Ages: Kindergarten – 2nd Grade

This class will meet every Monday at 4:00 pm. at the library. Parents are not required to stay with the child, but are encouraged to stay in the library. This one-hour program consists of sharing stories together, learning new facts about the books, and a project related to the story. This program should help young readers with comprehension, and reinforce the reading skills of older readers. Pre-registration is only required at the beginning to sign up your child for the year. Children may sign up at any time.

Tiny Tots Laptime
Ages: 6 months – 2 years

Tuesday mornings: 9:30-10:00 am. or 10:30 – 11:00 am. During each half hour session, the parent-child relationship is enhanced through the shared enjoyment of play. Your child’s growth and development will be encouraged through movement, rhythm, and short stories. No registration is required.

Exploration Station …. a children’s museum

Exploration Station...a children's museum is a hands-on exploration and discovery museum for children and their families, teachers and care givers. At Exploration Station, children can climb inside the tower of a medieval castle, fly a jet plane, sail on a pirate ship, become a soda shop clerk, drive a tractor and much more. Children of all ages are welcome at the museum, however, the majority of the exhibits are designed for children between the ages of 3-10 years old.
